Colomares Monument is a striking castle-style structure built to honour Christopher Columbus, blending Gothic, Islamic, and Baroque architectural elements. Hidden inside is the world's smallest church — a Guinness World Record at just 1.96 square metres — which remains an active place of worship. Free entry and a hilltop-village location in Benalmádena Pueblo make it an easy cultural stop.
Visit takes 30–45 minutes. The tiny interior church is accessed via narrow stairs, making it less suitable for limited mobility. The monument sits in the pedestrian heart of the historic village, surrounded by tapas bars.
