Alcazaba de Málaga is an 11th-century Moorish palace-fortress built into the hillside above central Málaga. Double defensive walls, ornate tiled courtyards, fountains, and high watchtowers showcase Islamic military architecture at its most sophisticated. From the upper ramparts, views extend across the port, the Roman theatre below, and towards the mountains.
Allow 2–3 hours for a full visit including the museum exhibits. Steep stairs and uneven stone paths make some sections challenging for limited mobility. Opening hours: November–March 9am–6pm (last entry 17:00), April–October 9am–8pm (last entry 19:00).
