Cruces de Mayo is one of Torremolinos's most cherished spring traditions — a two-weekend festival in which local brotherhoods and cultural groups compete to create the most elaborately decorated cross displays across the town's plazas. Wooden crosses are adorned with fresh flowers, embroidered mantles and shells, each surrounded by tables of local food and drink for visitors to enjoy.
The festival runs across two weekends in May: the first (2–3 May) features displays at Plaza Chiriva and Plaza Vicente Aleixandre, with a children's procession on Sunday 3 May departing from the parish church at 20:30; the second (10–11 May) hosts the Asociación Folclórica Cultural Juan Navarro at the fairground and the Hermandad de San Miguel at Plaza de la Unión Europea. All displays are free to attend.
